Bollywood actor Sanjana Sanghi marked the fifth anniversary of her debut film, "Dil Bechara," as she fondly remembered her late co-star, Sushant Singh Rajput.
Directed by Mukesh Chhabra, "Dil Bechara" was released on July 24, 2020. It is the Hindi adaptation of the Hollywood film, "The Fault in Our Stars."
Originally scheduled for theatrical release, the movie premiered on Disney+ Hotstar due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Sanghi, who has also appeared in films like "Dhak Dhak" and "Kadak Singh," made a heartfelt Instagram post on Thursday, featuring the film's poster. "Always was, always will be, the most magical. Thank you, for giving Dil Bechara and Kizie Basu a permanent home in your hearts. And for celebrating our film in the most special way, always. I am forever grateful. #5YearsOfDilBechara. Miss you Sush," she wrote in the caption.
The narrative of the film centers around Manny (portrayed by Rajput) and Kizie (played by Sanghi), both suffering from terminal illnesses who fall deeply in love.
Tragically, Rajput was discovered dead in his apartment on June 14 of the same year at the age of 34. His unexpected demise sent shockwaves throughout the nation, resulting in several legal proceedings and investigations. The concluding report from the CBI revealed that the actor died by suicide.
