Delhi Court grants bail to Jacqueline Fernandez in money laundering case

Delhi’s Patiala Court has granted bail to actor Jacqueline Fernandez in the money laundering case involving conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar. According to the news agency ANI, she will have to furnish a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh and one surety in the like amount. As per the bail conditions, the actor can travel abroad with the prior permission of the court.

Jacqueline Fernandez had been named as an accused in the money laundering case by the Enforcement Directorate, and she was under Delhi Police’s scrutiny to establish if she was part of the extortion racket carried out by Chandrashekhar.

The actor was reportedly in a relationship with Chandrashekhar and he had spent a large amount on her, gifting her several luxury items.

Chandrashekhar is accused of running an extortion racket worth Rs 200 crore from the inside of Tihar Jail.

Jacqueline Fernandez’s lawyer, in a recent interview, had said they would continue to fight for her dignity, and reiterated that she was innocent. Even, Chandrashekar, in his letter, claimed that the actor had no involvement in the alleged case.
