Actor Deepika Padukone has been featured on the cover of Time magazine as a ‘global star’ and is credited with ‘bringing the world to Bollywood’ with her work. Deepika gives boss lady vibes in a beige power suit and she’s a sight to behold.

TIME Magazine shared the cover featuring Deepika on social media and also included an excerpt from the conversation that read, ‘@deepikapadukone never set out to take India to the world. She wanted the world to come to India. As the most popular actress in the world’s most populous country, she’s often asked if she’s going to move to Hollywood. “My mission has always been to make a global impact while still being rooted in my country,” she says on her home turf in Mumbai.’

In the interview with the magazine, Deepika spoke about India’s recent performance at the Oscars, where she joined as a presenter, and also the ‘constant political backlash’ she faces.
Speaking about the Telugu film ‘RRR’s win in the Best Song category for ‘Naatu Naatu’ and ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ win in the Best Documentary Short category, Deepika feels we should not be content with it and hopes we can look at this as the beginning of an opportunity.

Deepika further spoke about the ‘political backlash’ against her and said she doesn’t know if she’s supposed to feel something about it and the truth is, she doesn’t feel anything about it.
For the unversed, Deepika's film ‘Padmaavat’ faced boycott calls from Karni Sena; her visit to the Jawaharlal Nehru University to express solidarity with students, who were attacked by a mob, stirred controversy; and her ‘saffron bikini’ from a song in ‘Pathaan’ faced massive backlash on social media as well.
