Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu and Kriti Sanon starrer heist comedy witnessed an impressive weekend. ‘Crew’ has minted ₹29.25 crore in India in just three days, becoming the third highest grossing film of 2024 after its first weekend. The only two films which have earned more than ‘Crew’ are ‘Fighter’ and ‘Shaitaan’.
The film saw a jump over the weekend after an impressive opening day collection. According to Sacnilk.com, ‘Crew’ earned ₹10.25 crore on Sunday, taking its domestic collection to ₹29.25 crore. With ₹15 crore overseas, the worldwide collection of the film stands at ₹37.5 crore after first weekend. ‘Crew’ witnessed an overall 29.93 per cent Hindi occupancy on Sunday with maximum occupancy of 41.57 per cent in the evening.
Even though the film enjoyed being the only big Bollywood film at the box office, it faced competition from ‘Godzilla X Kong’. The heist comedy film, however, benefited from the long weekend factor. It will face the crucial Monday test today.
The heist comedy film boasts of a stellar cast including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. Diljit Dosanjh and comedian Kapil Sharma also play key roles in the film, which has opened to a positive response from the critics and moviegoers. ‘Crew’ is made under the Balaji Telefilms and Anil Kapoor Film & Communications banners.
‘Crew’ is set against the backdrop of the struggling airline industry and follows the story of three women who are air hostesses by profession. Their lives take a turn when they are caught in a web of lies woven by someone.
