‘Baahubali’ fame Sathyaraj who played Katappa will portray PM Modi in biopic: Report

Who can forget the S S Rajamouli’s blockbuster ‘Baahubali’ starring Prabhas. The film broke a lots of box office records and the one question that everyone had was ‘Why did Katappa kill Baahubali?’. The famous Tamil actor who was seen in the role of Katappa is all set to portray Prime Minister Modi’s role in an unannounced biopic.  

PM Modi biopic on the cards?

It seems like another biopic on India’s most popular leader is on the cards and veteran Tamil actor will reportedly play the titular role, however no official announcement has been made about the rumoured project. On Saturday, industry tracker Ramesh Bala took to X and shared the update. He wrote on X, “Veteran actor #Sathyaraj to act as #NarendraModi in Honourable PM #NarendraModi biopic.” He further said that more details of the upcoming project will be revealed soon.  

The film will reportedly be produced in Bollywood, however it will be a pan-India project. The film is expected to be released in five languages including Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and English. 

Actors who played PM Modi's role

If true, this will not be the first film made on the life of Prime Minister Modi. Multiple biopic films have been made on the veteran politician. In 2019, Vivek Oberoi played PM Modi on screen in the film directed by Omung Kumar.  

Earlier, Lalji Deoria in a Gujarati film, Rajit Kapoor in Uri: The Surgical Strike, KK Shukla in ‘Battalion 609’ and Mahesh Thakur in ‘Modi: Journey Of A Common Man’ have played the leader on screen.

Sathyaraj who rose to nationwide fame with ‘Baahubali’ by playing the character of Katappa, is a veteran Tamil actor. He was last seen in ‘Singapore Saloon’. The actor is yet to confirm the reports of being cast for the role of PM Modi.
