Alia Bhatt jets off to Delhi with Ranbir Kapoor to receive National Film Award | Watch

The 69th National Film Awards ceremony is all set to take place on October 17 and Alia Bhatt, who is one of the recipients, has jetted off to Delhi to receive the award along with her husband, actor Ranbir Kapoor.

Alia Bhatt was seen at a private airport in Mumbai. As she stepped out of the car, she waved at the paparazzi. She looked elegant in a white salwar kameez.

The National Film Award winners were announced on August 24, and the prestigious event is scheduled for October 17 in Delhi.

Alia Bhatt bagged the prestigious National Award for her commendable performance in ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’. Alia portrayed the role of an activist and a girl who was pushed into prostitution in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial. Her performance was widely loved by all.

When the awards were announced, Alia, recreating the iconic Gangubai pose, penned a note of gratitude to Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the team of ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’.

Alia wrote, ‘To Sanjay Sir.. To the entire crew.. To my family.. To my team & last but most definitely not the least To my audience.. This national award is yours .. because without you ALL none of this would be possible.. seriously!!!’.

‘I am SO grateful .. I do not take moments like these lightly.. I hope to continue to entertain for as long as I can.. Love and light.. Gangu (also known as alia) ,’ she added.

Alia Bhatt is sharing the prestigious award with Kriti Sanon, who won the award for her stellar performance in ‘Mimi’.

Apart from Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon, Allu Arjun also won the Best Actor Award. R Madhavan’s directorial debut ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect’ was awarded Best Feature Film.

Alia Bhatt was last seen in Karan Johar’s ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’. She is currently shooting for her next project, titled ‘Jigra’.
