Akshay Kumar, who is one of the top-paid stars in Bollywood, has been felicitated by the Income Tax department as the 'highest taxpayers' in the country. The honor certificate was received by his team on his behalf as he is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film with ‘Tinu Desai’ in the UK.
According to reports, the ‘Khiladi’ actor has constantly been among the highest taxpayers of India over the last five years.
Reacting to the news his fans tweeted 'Income Tax Department has felicitated Superstar @akshaykumar with a Samman Patra and termed him highest taxpayer from the Hindi film industry. Haters must see this before calling him Canadian.'
Dadasaheb Phalke recipient Rajinikanth was also felicitated by the Income Tax department as the 'highest taxpayers' in the country. His daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth accepted the award on his behalf.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar’s film 'Raksha Bandhan', co-starring Bhumi Pednekar, is scheduled to release in theatres on August 11. The actor also has ‘Ram Setu’, ‘Selfie’ and a Hindi remake of Suriya's Tamil film 'Soorarai Pottru' in the pipeline.
