Actor Ajay Devgn, who recently received the National Film Award in the Best Actor category, announced his next project with director Neeraj Pandey, on Monday. He added that his film will release globally in theatres on June 16 next year.
The actor took to Twitter and wrote, ‘@neerajpofficial and I are going to start our film together soon. And, this one will release worldwide in cinemas on June 16, 2023.’ In 2018, the actor had tweeted that they are collaborating for a film titled, ‘Chanakya.’ His 2018 tweet read, ‘Looking forward to playing #Chanakya, a film about one of the greatest thinkers in Indian History, directed by @neerajpofficial.’
According to news agency PTI, in a February 2020 interview filmmaker Neeraj had said that, ‘the film was in pre-production and gearing to go on floors. The project got delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.’
Some of director Neeraj Pandey’s critically acclaimed films include, ‘M.S Dhoni: The untold story’, ‘A Wednesday’, ‘Special 26’, ‘Baby’ and ‘Aiyaari’.
On the work front, Ajay Devgn is currently awaiting the release of his film ‘Thank God’, co-starring Sidharth Malhotra and Rakul Preet Singh, which releases in theatres on October 25, 2022. After this, he star in thriller film ‘Drishyam 2’, alongside Tabu and Akshaye Khanna. The film will hit the theatres on November 18, 2022. He also has ‘Kaithi’ remake of ‘Bholaa’ in the pipeline.
