New Delhi, Sep 3 (PTI): Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, and Randeep Hooda have rallied behind the flood-stricken people of Punjab, urging others to participate in relief efforts. Punjab is currently grappling with one of its worst flood crises in decades, due to the overflowing Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers and seasonal rivulets triggered by torrential rains in their catchment areas in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.
The unprecedented deluge has claimed the lives of 30 people and has affected over 3.5 lakh residents, according to the state authorities’ bulletin covering the period from August 1 to September 2. Expressing solidarity, Shah Rukh Khan posted on X, sending prayers and strength to Punjab’s people. "My heart goes out to those in Punjab impacted by these devastating floods. May God bless them all," wrote the 59-year-old actor.

He urged others to contribute in any way possible and to share only verified information. Alia Bhatt also expressed her support, sending love, strength, and gratitude to those working tirelessly on the ground, hoping every affected family finds the support needed to heal and rebuild.
Randeep Hooda, actively assisting in Gurdaspur, described the damage as heartbreaking. Through the organization Global Sikhs, he has been helping and raising awareness, noting that more aid is needed, especially once the water recedes, to aid those who have lost homes, crops, and livestock.
Sonu Sood shared a video on X, offering assistance to those in need. He assured them they are not alone and promised to support in every way possible. "Even if it takes everything, I will not back down. We are Punjabis – and we do not give up," he said.
Other Punjabi stars have also joined in the relief efforts. Diljit Dosanjh adopted ten severely affected villages in Gurdaspur and Amritsar, promising rehabilitation. Notable figures like Gippy Grewal, singers Karan Aujla, Ranjit Bawa, Inderjit Nikku, Sunanda Sharma, Satinder Sartaaj, and Jasbir Jassi have also provided support, with Ammy Virk adopting 200 villages for aid.
