New Delhi, Oct 10 (PTI) An innovative artificial intelligence reimagining of the epic Mahabharat is set to premiere on Prasar Bharati's WAVES OTT platform later this month, with subsequent broadcasts scheduled every Sunday on Doordarshan. The digital premiere of "Mahabharat," produced by the Collective Media Network, is slated for October 25, followed by a Doordarshan telecast starting November 2. "This partnership on an AI-led reimagining offers audiences a fresh experience of one of India's greatest epics, beautifully fusing tradition with state-of-the-art technology in storytelling. It represents a union of progress and heritage in modern broadcasting," Gaurav Dwivedi, CEO of Prasar Bharati, stated. By utilizing advanced AI tools, the series reconstructs the expansive Mahabharat universe with its intricate characters, compelling battlefields, rich emotions, and profound moral dilemmas, all with cinematic grandeur and vivid realism. "As someone who, like millions of Indians, grew up watching the classic Mahabharat on TV every Sunday, it deeply influenced my imagination and cultural connection. With this new Mahabharat series, we aim to provide today's generation with a similarly immersive and unifying experience, leveraging the capabilities of modern technology," said Vijay Subramaniam, Founder and Group CEO of Collective Artists Network.
