Citing mental health concerns, the England and Wales Cricket Board on Thursday announced that a strict bio-bubble will not be in place in the upcoming India England series.
While players from both camps have contracted the Covid-19 virus, English Board's Chief Executive Tom Harrison stated that there is a huge difference in players testing positive and imposing strict bio bubbles.
Defending the ECB's decision, Harrison said that players are just fed up with bio-security and bio bubbles as it has had such a detrimental impact on their mental health.
Currently, 5 players of the Indian team are under quarantine, and in the first week of July at least 7 members on the England side had tested positive.
India is set to play a 5 match Test series against England starting August 4 in Nottingham.
