Addressing a rally in poll-bound Chhattisgarh's Jagdalpur, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that the state will celebrate Diwali thrice.

"This time Chhattisgarh will celebrate Diwali thrice - once on the day of Diwali, second on 3rd December when BJP forms govt, and then in January (2024) on construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya," said Shah.

"In the last 9 years, the Modi government developed roads, provided gas cylinders, constructed toilets, Eklavya schools and also gave 5 kg rice to every household per month for free. What did you do Bhupesh Babu (CM Bhupesh Baghel)? You opened liquor shops, indulged in many scams including ₹540 crore coal transportation scam, ₹1,300 crore scam in Gothan scheme and Mahadev app scam," Shah added.

The assembly elections in the state will be held on November 7 and 17.
