The Election Commission in the second notice to Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in two days asked her to explain by April 10 her comments allegedly telling people to "gherao" central security forces.

During the March 28 rally, Mamata had reportedly questioned ‘who gave central forces the power to threaten women and not allow them to cast their votes’.

The Bengal Chief Minister was asked to reply by 11 am on Saturday, explaining her comments. The election body felt her remarks violated several sections of the model code as well as the law.
