Extending intervals between Covid vaccine doses could leave people vulnerable to infection by one of the variants, the chief medical advisor to the US president, Dr Anthony Fauci said in an interview to NDTV. He however said extending gaps between jabs might be the right call if a country is struggling with supply of vaccines.
He further stated that any country that has Delta variant of Covid-19 should be worried if enough people are not vaccinated.
Meanwhile, the British government on Friday said that the new Delta coronavirus variant first found in India is 60 percent more transmissible in households than the Alpha variant that forced UK to lock down in January.
