Donald Trump calls suspension from Facebook 'an insult'

Former US President Trump has called his Facebook suspension "an insult" to Americans who voted for him.

Facebook announced on Friday that it has suspended former US President Donald Trump from its platform until at least January 2023, after the initial suspension following the Capitol riots of January 2021.

This means that Trump looses a major social media platform ahead of the November 2022 national midterm elections, when his party will be competing for Congressional seats. However, it means he may be able to return to Facebook well before the next presidential election in late 2024.
