Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh, who was shunted out this week, has written to Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray, claiming that state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh had asked arrested Assistant Sub Inspect Sachin Vaze to collect Rs 100 crore from bars and restaurants every month.
Responding to the allegations, Deshmukh said Vaze's direct links in Antilia bomb scare case and Mansukh Hiren death are coming forward.
He said Param Bir Singh is afraid that its connections will reach up to him and has therefore made these false allegations to save and protect himself from legal action.
Meanwhile, the Opposition BJP has demanded Deshmukh’s resignation.
