The iconic Sunder Nursery in New Delhi has bagged two awards in the UNESCO Asia-Pacific Awards for Cultural Heritage Conservation this year.
The sprawling 90-acre garden has bagged the newly introduced 'Special Recognition for Sustainable Development' and the 'Award of Excellence', UNESCO Bangkok confirmed.
After almost a decade long conservation effort, Sunder Nursery was transformed into a horticultural paradise and opened its doors to the public in 2018.
This year's awards have recognized a total of 7 projects after reviewing 48 entries from nine countries across the Asia Pacific region. Koothambalam at Guruvayoor Temple in Kerala's Thrissur was also judged one of the winner and was chosen in the Award of Distinction category.
