Lockdown has been extended in Delhi for another week, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Sunday. The lockdown restrictions in Delhi will stay in place till May 31.

Covid cases have seen a steady drop in the national capital. Delhi registered 1600 Covid cases in the past 24 hours

While announcing the lockdown extension till May 31, Arvind Kejriwal said unlocking in Delhi may start after May 31 if the cases continue to drop.

Kejriwal further said  that the priority right now is to ‘ensure vaccination for people in the shortest possible time’ and reiterated that his government is ‘trying everywhere to get the maximum number of vaccine doses’

. The Chief Minister said if everyone can be ‘vaccinated in time it is possible to escape the third wave of Covid’.
