Supreme Court judge Justice D Y Chandrachud on Wednesday stressed on the need to digitise legal processes in order to ensure swifter delivery of justice.

Speaking at an online event organised by the Allahabad High Court to inaugurate virtual courts and ‘e-Sewa kendras’, Justice Chandrachud said that a very serious deficiency in the criminal justice system is the delay in the communication of bail orders and it needs to be addressed on a war footing. He said that such delays touches upon human liberty of every under-trial, or even a convict whose sentence has been suspended.
