Day after Serum, Bharat Biotech rolls out Indian Covid vaccine

A day after Serum Institute rolled out Covid vaccine, the first batches of Bharat BioTech's Covaxin left Hyderabad early on Wednesday morning for Delhi and 10 other cities.

The consignment was flown to Delhi by Air India. Reports said that a consignment of three boxes, weighing 80.5 kg was flown to Delhi. Apart from Delhi, the vaccines are being sent to Bengaluru, Chennai, Patna, Jaipur and Lucknow, officials said.

The govt has procured 1.1 crore doses of Serum's Covishield and 5.5 lakh doses of Covaxin ahead of the inoculation drive that will begin on January 16.
