IPL 2021 may have just got over, but the franchises have already started to plan for the upcoming mega auction for the next season. For Chennai Super Kings (CSK), MS Dhoni will be the first player they retain once they get clarity over the rules. In a recent development, a CSK official told Sports Tak that the team will use its first retention card for its captain MS Dhoni. Which team or franchise would not want to retain a man like Dhoni, the official added.

2 new teams will be added in the IPL from the 2022 season and the retention rules will be updated. Responding to that, the official said that as of now he can only say that CSK will go for Dhoni. The rest they will see and go by the rules set by the BCCI. After CSK lifted its 4th IPL title, MSD gave a hint about his future saying that he hadn’t yet left behind a legacy.
