Crypto Craze: Picture of a rock sells for $1,300,000, meet the millionaire NFT EtherRock

A picture of a cartoon rock or EtherRock as it is popularly called in the crypto world sold for a record 400 ether on Monday which translates to $1.3 million. This the latest in the NFT or non fungible token fad that has taken over the crypto collectible world.

So, what is EtherRock? A crypto collectible made it's debut in 2017, it is a JPEG of a cartoon rock, built and sold on the ethereum blockchain. It derives it value as there are only 100 out there. 

The demand for crypto collectibles and NFTs has been soaring. The non-fungible token (NFT) marketplace OpenSea has surpassed $1 billion in monthly trading volume, according to data compiled by The Block.
