Mumbai police have arrested 2 men for allegedly framing an actress in a drugs case, which has led to her imprisonment in Sharjah since April 1, 2023.
The two men allegedly gave actor Chrisann Pereira an object with drugs hidden in it, and asked her to deliver it to someone in Sharjah. Chrisann was enticed into flying to Sharjah with an offer of an audition for a web series.
The motive was revenge against the actor's mother over some dispute, police reportedly said.
Cops are now hopeful of getting Chrisann released after informing Sharjah authorities about the case.
