Hathras gangrape case: UP court convicts main accused, acquits 3 other accused

A special court in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district convicted the main accused in the 2020 Hathras gang rape and murder case.

The court also acquitted three others accused of all charges in the case.

The main accused, Sandeep Singh, has been convicted under various sections of the IPC and the SC/ST Act.

Victim family's advocate was quoted as saying that they will try to appeal the acquittal of the 3 accused in the high court

A 19-year-old Dalit girl was gang-raped and murdered in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district.
