India recorded 42,015 new coronavirus cases and 3,998 deaths in the last 24 hours, as shared by the govt on Wednesday. With this, total cases have risen to 3,12,16,337.
Nearly 37,000 recoveries were reported on Tuesday, as per the Union Health Ministry. The country's daily positivity rate is at 2.27 per cent, it has remained less than 3 per cent for 30 consecutive days.

Active cases have shown a rise, from 4.06 lakh on Monday to 4.07 lakh on Tuesday. In Kerala, there are more than 1.26 lakh active cases now.
Of the 3,998 deaths reported on Tuesday, Maharashtra reported more than 3,650 after the state govt authorities revised their data, adding to the overall death toll.
