China's state-run Sichuan Airlines has suspended all its cargo flights to India for 15 days. The move has caused major disruption to private traders' efforts to procure the much-needed oxygen concentrators and other medical supplies from China.
The airlines' suspension of flights has come despite Beijing offering "support and assistance" to India to deal with the latest surge of Covid-19 cases.
The airline said it has suspended its cargo flights on six routes, including Xian to Delhi hitting the transport of medical supplies. It added that the flights have been stopped to reduce the number of imported cases in the face of Covid situation in India.
