A Covid care centre with 500 oxygen-supported beds has been opened on Monday at Delhi's Radha Soami Beas Campus in Chhattarpur.
The centre named Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel Covid Care Centre will be run by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police.
ITBP has said that the treatment at this centre will be free of cost but there would be no walk-in admissions allowed. Patients will be required to call helpline numbers and give details first. Admission will be made after approval by district surveillance officers (DSOs).
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited the facility and thanked the Union government for providing doctors and medical staff at the centre. He said it will be further increased to 2,000 beds and then to 5,000 beds. A 200-bed ICU is also being started there, Kejriwal said.
