Drug maker Bharat Biotech on Thursday said it plans to ramp up production of its Covid-19 vaccine 'Covaxin' by additional 20 crore doses. The increase will take the overall production volume of the vaccine to about 100 crore dosages per annum.
Bharat Biotech said it will utilise its subsidiary's Gujarat-based facility to add another 20 crore doses of Covaxin.
The Ankleshwar-based plant would start rolling out the much in demand vaccine from the fourth quarter of the year, it added.
Earlier in April, the Hyderabad-based company ramped up the manufacturing capacity of its vaccine to 70 crore doses per annum.
