A video released by the Congress party in 2018 which received flak online, has been withdrawn ahead of the assembly polls in Kerala.

The one-minute-video showed few male devotees of Lord Ayyappa, dressed in the traditional clothes, chanting prayers and trekking while a young woman dressed in modern clothes walks past them with police escort.

The Supreme Court allowed entry of women into the Sabarimala shrine in a landmark verdict in 2018. The BJP and Congress led UDF had held massive protests against the entry of women, while the LDF decided to follow the SC verdict.
