So what does this mean? Well, no one really knows It’s the first time crimes under the Tobacco law have been added to the category of environmental offences Cigarette and Other Tobacco Products Act, 2003 controls --smoking in a public place, --illegal sale of tobacco and --tobacco advertising, among other things Of the over 29,500 cases under the law, 70 % were from Tamil Nadu More than 25,000 - were arrested under the tobacco law, Out of which 230 were women
