After a humiliating shock loss in September, Real Madrid finally avenged the loss as they thrashed minnows Sheriff Tiraspol 3-0 on Wednesday night. Travelling to Transnistria for their away game, Real Madrid always looked in total control as they brushed aside their opponents.

David Alaba & Toni Kroos scored in the 1st half for Real Madrid as they galloped to a 2-0 lead by the halfway mark. The Sheriff defence looked helpless in the opening 45 mins of play as many more goals were expected in the 2nd half.

Karim Benzema then scored the 3rd goal of the night for the 13-time Champions League winners which was enough to give them 3 points on the trip. With the shock loss to Sheriff in September avenged, Real Madrid also booked a knockouts berth with 1 match to go. Real Madrid now has 4 wins from 5 games played so far in Group D.
