Champions League: Man City, Real Madrid hammer 5 goals each, Messi gets a brace for PSG

Match Day 3 of the UEFA Champions League saw some pretty one sided clashes as well as thrilling finishes. 13-time Champions Real Madrid hammered Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk 5-0 after an embarrassing defeat in their previous European game to Sheriff. Vinicius Junior scored a brace and Kareem Benzema too got on the scoresheet as Carlo Ancelloti's men registered a much needed win ahead of the Classico in La Liga. The Spanish club is now 2nd in Group D after 2 wins from 3 games. 

Manchester City returned home from their trip to Belgium with 3 points. Riyad Mahrez scored a brace as Kyle Walker too got on the sheet as Manchester City won 5-1 against Club Brugge. With 2 wins from 3 games, City are now 2nd in Group A as Pep Guardiola called the win one of the best performances of the team in European competition. 

Lionel Messi scored a brace for Paris St Germain as they completed a thrilling 3-2 win over RB Leipzig in Group A. After Kylian Mbappe opened the scoring for the French side at home, the Leipzig fought back to take the lead in the 2nd half. Messi then with the support of Mbappe fought back and scored twice in 7 mins to help PSG win 3-2. The win helps PSG maintain the top spot in Group A with 2 wins and a draw from 3 games. 

Liverpool played out a blockbuster clash on the road as they beat Atletico Madrid at home in dramatic circumstances. Antoine Griezmann was breathing fire as he scored two opening half goals for Atletico and both times the lead was cancelled by Mohd Salah. The Egyptian also scored a brace along which helped Liverpool win 3-2. Jurgen Klopp's men now lead Group B with 3 wins from 3 outings.
