The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a plea seeking its intervention in halting the construction of the Central Vista project in New Delhi amid the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic as the matter is still pending with the Delhi High Court. While refusing to interfere, the top court permitted the petitioners challenging the construction activities amid the COVID19 emergency to make a request before the Delhi High Court for an early listing of the case. While the Delhi Disaster Management Authority's order had stayed all construction work in the national capital, the work on the Central Vista project was allowed after special permission.
