The Badminton World Federation on Saturday announced the cancellation of Taipei Open Super 300 due to Covid-19. It was scheduled to take place from September 7th to 12th in Taipei City. The internarional badminton body said that they have decided to cancel the event because of the 'unexpected Covid-19 complications regarding staging the tournament'

In its statement, BWF assured that there will be no further changes for the upcoming badminton tournaments. Korea Open and Macau Open have already been cancelled due to the virus scare in the region. BWF also postponed the World Junior Badminton Championship which was to be hosted in China.
