“Warning! Umbrellas are not waterproof!” this tweet from China based user went viral as luxury brands Gucci and sportswear brand faced backlash as they sold an umbrella worth 11,100 yuan ($1,644) which did not keep the rain.
A hashtag on “the collaboration umbrella being sold for 11,100 yuan is not waterproof” attracted more than 140 million views on social media site Weibo.

Gucci's website, which earlier described it as an umbrella, later changed the classification to "sun umbrella" or a parasol as the backlash grew.
Netizens made a splash with tweets flooding social media platforms mocking the product.
