Over 24,250 techies laid-off at 84 startups so far: Report

Its been a strong wave of layoffs at Indian startups. Quoting Inc24 a startups coverage portal, IANS says that 24,250 employees of 84 Indian startups have lost their jobs so far. 

Byju's, Ola, OYO, Meesho, MPL, LivSpace, Innovaccer, Udaan, Unacademy and Vedantu have cut the most number of jobs in India. Recently, Practo, a leading digital healthcare platform, has laid off 41 employees, mostly engineers. Dunzo has cut at least 30% of its workforce. This, after receiving $75 million in a fresh funding round.

As per media reports, fantasy e-sports startup FanClash has let go about 75% of its employees with a seveance package worth 2 months of salary. As per Inc42, the startup laid off about 100 employees in three rounds. ZestMoney is also reportedly letting about 20% of its employees which will impact nearly 100 employees.

Similarly, SAAS platform for online stores, Dukaan has laid off nearly 30% of its workforce, or around 60 employees. This is the second round of layoff in nearly 6 months. Healthcare unicorn Pristyn Care sacked 350 employees across sales, tech and product teams. UpGrad too cut nearly 30% of its workforce at its subsidiary Campus
