Union Highway and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari predicts that prices parity between petrol, diesel, and electric vehicles in two years, eliminating the need for subsidies. He adds that current savings from electric fuel already make EVs financially beneficial for buyers.

Gadkari said, 'Within 2 years, the cost of the petrol vehicle and disel vehicle will be same like electric vehicle. So they don't need subsidy because already there is saving on electric as a fuel.

So that was my argument but still, the finance minister and heavy industry minister, if they want to give subsidy, you are going to be beneficial for that. I don't have any problem'.
