Microsoft Layoff: Fresh round of job cuts to affect customer service, support, and sales teams

Microsoft Layoffs 2023: Tech giant Microsoft has announced a fresh round of lay offs that would affect employees across the customer service, support and sales teams, reported Geekwire. This is in addition to the layoff announcement made in January which led to 10,000 job cuts.

As per the report the organisation is looking at restructuring as it begins a new fiscal year.

“Organizational and workforce adjustments are a necessary and regular part of managing our business. We will continue to prioritize and invest in strategic growth areas for our future and in support of our customers and partners,” a Microsoft spokesperson said in a statement.

As per CNBC, Microsoft filed a notice Monday saying it would cut 276 people in its home state of Washington. Of those, 66 are virtual. 

Meanwhile, Salesperson and customer service representatives took to LinkedIn and other social media platforms to post that they have lost their jobs.
