In a move aimed at easing travel woes amid escalating tensions, Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that all Tesla Superchargers in Israel will now be free for use. This announcement, made on X (formerly Twitter), means Tesla owners across the country can charge their electric vehicles without any cost at all.
Tesla currently operates 22 Supercharger stations in Israel, providing a network for efficient and rapid charging. These Superchargers are Tesla’s fastest charging stations, capable of delivering up to 250 kW of power. Remarkably, Tesla vehicles can gain up to 200 miles of range in just 15 minutes when connected to these high-speed chargers.
Musk’s decision to make charging free of charge comes at a critical time for Israel, as the nation faces terror attacks in both its southern and northern regions. Responding to a query on X about aiding Gazans, Musk expressed his desire to help those in Gaza who seek peace but acknowledged the challenges of doing so amid the ongoing conflict.
"I would like to help those in Gaza who want peace but have no way to do so. In general, I want all humans to be happy and prosperous, without regard to race, creed, religion or anything else," Musk stated.
As the Israel-Hamas conflict entered its fifth day, the Israeli Air Force continued its mission to dismantle Hamas' terror network in Gaza. In a significant move, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Benny Gantz, the former defence chief and leader of the centrist Opposition party, agreed to form an emergency government—a recurring pattern in Israeli politics during times of significant crisis.
