Fuel price cut: petrol, diesel prices cut in Maharashtra

Petrol, Diesel Prices In Maharashtra: The first big move from the new state govt, the Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced a cut in petrol and diesesl prices owing to a cut in Value added tax (VAT). 

CM Shinde announced that petrol will now be cheaper by Rs 5/litre while diesel prices will come down by Rs 3/litre.

Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra hailed the decision which will be a great relief to everyone in Maharashtra as the state takes a Rs 6000 cr hit by cutting the tax. 

In Mumbai, the price of petrol prior to the cut stood at Rs 111.35 per litre and that of diesel at Rs 97.28 per litre. Mumbai has the highest petrol price in the country.
