Elon Musk danced in joy as the world's richest man kickstarted delivery of Tesla’s first German-made cars to 30 clients and their families at the carmaker’s 5 billion euro ($5.5 billion) Giga Berlin plant.
“Danke Deutschland!!” Musk tweeted to commemorate the opening.
The billionaire certainly has reasons to celebrate the opening of the company’s massive new factory in the heart of Europe. Tesla has been put through the wringer throughout the process of constructing the factory, from major objections from locals to serious environmental concerns.
The company persevered, though, and was finally granted its very last environmental permit earlier this month.
Musk's moves are now becoming a Tesla tradition, since the first deliveries of the Made-in-China Model 3 at Giga Shanghai back in January 2020. During that event, Musk surprised everyone by gracing Giga Shanghai’s audience with an impromptu routine. All eyes on Austin for the next factory delivery and the jig that may follow from Musk.
