Amazon's Return to Office Policy 2023: Amazon has given a free hand to managers to fire employees who do not come to the office three times a week, reported Insider. As per the report, this is part of the updated global manager guidance on Amazon's return-to-office policy.

Amazon's Return to Office Policy 2023

Amazon has mandated a strict 3-day work-from-office policy that was announced in February. This instruction to the managers is the strongest measure taken by Amazon so far, as per Business Insider. However, the guidance that was shared to the managers do not allow them to sack employees immediately. A three step process is described in the policy

Amazon's Return to Office Policy: 3 Step Process

Step 1: Managers have to hold personal meetings with the employees who do not comply with the three days work from office policy. The discussion should be documented in a follow-up email by the manager.

Step 2: The manager should hold another meeting if the non-compliance continues within a reasonable time frame. As per the guidance, this meet should reinforce that the 3 days work from office is a requirement and than non-compliance without legitimate reason may lead to disciplinary action leading to termination

Step 3: The final step is to engage a human resource person who might give a written warning or other actions which might conclude in termination of employment.
