Britney Spears has announced her engagement to her boyfriend Sam Asghari with a post displaying a diamond ring engraved with the word “lioness”.

In an Instagram video, the 39-year-old singer was seen winking, kissing a smiling Asghari on the cheek and answering "yes!" when he asks if she likes it.

Britney wrote along with her post, “I can’t f***ing believe it!"
Asghari who is an actor and personal trainer, posted his own photo of Britney showing her ring to the camera. The couple met on the set of the Slumber Party music video in 2016.

The news of Britney's engagement comes days after her father filed to end the court conservatorship that has controlled the singer’s life and money for 13 years.

The singer told a court in June she wanted to marry Asghari and have a baby with him during an impassioned plea to end the conservatorship, but said she hadn’t been allowed to remove an intrauterine device for birth control or even drive with him.

Legally, Spears can get married, but the conservatorship must approve it as with other major life decisions.
Britney Spears was previously married to Jason Alexander - they got married in 2004 and parted ways in a few months. The same year, Britney Spears married dancer Kevin Federline and divorced in 2007 - the former couple are parents to two kids.
