American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift is all set to become the first female artist to receive the global icon award at the upcoming Brit Awards 2021.
Confirming the news, the organisers said that the US singer will be honoured with the award in recognition for her immense impact on music across the world.
Issuing a statement to Press, Brit award also lauded the 31-year-old singer for highlighting many important issues, including her work promoting acceptance of the LGBTQ community.
Only three singers Elton John, David Bowie and Robbie Williams have received the award in the past.
