For 5th straight year, Team India ended the cricket calendar with the number 1 Test ranking as ICC released the rankings on Thursday. Head coach Ravi Shastri says his team deserved the status of the world's number one Test side after overcoming every obstacle, including a change in the points system, on its journey to the summit. Shastri added that the team earned the top badge once again fair and square. The former India captain has been serving as the head coach of the Indian team since 2017, having got an extension after the 2019 ICC World Cup. Team India is going to play New Zealand in the final of the inaugural World Test Championship in Southampton starting 19th June.
