Liquor shops in Madhya Pradesh's Mandsaur city will offer a 10% discount on country liquor to people who are fully vaccinated against the coronavirus.

The excise department in the district rolled out the order to boost vaccination drive in the region.

Mandsaur's district excise officer Anil Sachan said that a 10 percent discount will be provided to people at liquor shops in Sitamau Phatak, Bhuniakhedi, and Old Bus Stand after they provide the certificate of both the doses.

If the experiment proves successful, it will be implemented in other parts of the district as well, Sachan added.

Over 117 crore anti-coronavirus vaccine doses have been administered in India since the start of the vaccination drive earlier this year, with over 8.12 crore doses administered in Madhya Pradesh.
