Upcoming film 'Bob Biswas' starring Abhishek Bachchan, bankrolled by Shah Rukh Khan’s red Chillies Entertainment, will have a direct digital release.
The makers of the film have decided to release it on Zee5, but they are still deciding on an ideal release date.
Directed by Diya Annapurna Ghosh, 'Bob Biswas' also stars Chitrangada Singh in the lead role. 'Bob Biswas' is a spin off from Sujoy Ghosh’s 2012 thriller, 'Kahaani'.
In the Vidya Balan-starrer 'Kahaani', Bob Biswas was a contract killer who worked as an LIC agent in the day.
Bengali actor Saswata Chatterjee played the role of Biswas in the film, but for the spinoff, makers decided to rope in Junior Bachchan.
'Bob Biswas' will be Abhishek’s second film to get an OTT release. Earlier this year, his film 'The Big Bull' was released on Disney+ Hotstar.
