Marvel and Disney's latest superhero film 'Black Widow' might just bring back watching films in theatres post the pandemic, as it debuted across cinemas in north America.

The film has already garnered nearly $40 million in its opening collection at the Box Office, as per a report by Forbes. The sum also includes collections from Thursday previews.

The Scarlett Johansson film is expected to earn at least $90 million over the opening weekend, which will make it the highest for a film in theatres, since the Covid-19 pandemic hit.

While the film is also streaming on OTT platforms in America, there is no word on its India release yet.

The film has also been rated 80% on review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes. The overall review on the website says 'Black Widow' "is a solidly entertaining standalone adventure that’s rounded out by a stellar supporting cast."

Fans have been anxiously waiting for Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow's origin story. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the Black Widow is a Russian spy who defected to the US side by joining S.H.I.E.L.D and later, the Avengers. The film explores her dark past and her first family.
