Honey, the everyday kitchen ingredient does not need refrigeration to last longer. In fact, refrigerating honey will do more harm than good. Just storing it in an air-tight container is enough to keep it fresh. But in today's social media obsessed world, going against the tide makes for viral trends. And honey has made its way to the list!

According to a trend that's making the rounds, people all over the Internet are freezing honey in bottles, and biting into it like a piece of candy. When honey is stored in a deep freezer for about 8-9 hours, in a plastic bottle, it turns into a solid chewy substance.

Is it safe to eat frozen honey?

While there isn’t any study to observe the effects of frozen honey, but multiple studies warn against consuming too much of it. Only because consuming a high amount of honey may cause adverse effects due to its high sugar and calorie content.
