Bihar man refuses to return Rs 5.5 lakh received due to error, says PM Modi sent it

Bihar Police have arrested a 30-year-old man in Khagaria district for refusing to return Rs 5.5 lakh he received in his account due to an error by Gramin Bank.

Ranjeet Das received the amount in his bank account last year. The bank contacted the person and asked him to immediately return the money when they spotted the error.

The person said that he thought as Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised to deposit Rs 15 lakh in everybody's bank account, it could be the first instalment of the same. He added that he spent all the money.
